To breathe is to pray

To breathe is to pray.
To pray is to live.

To live is to love.
To love is to give.

To give is to grow.
To grow is to serve.

To serve is to die.
To die is to merge.

I breathe you in

Lord,
I breathe you in,
So I can start the day.

Please help me to remember you,
And always, Lord, to pray.

Lord,
I’m stretching now,
So I can join the dance.

Please help me to remember you,
And always offer thanks.

Lord,
I’m standing up,
So I can face the fray.

Please help me to remember,
And rejoice in you, today.

Lord,
I’m ready now,
Prepared to hear your call.

Please help me to remember you,
And be the slave of all.

Lord,
I depend on you
Completely,

For every time
I breathe you in,

Oxygen streams
Into my blood,

Giving me life,
Until my final breath.

Breathe in,
Breathe out –

Again,
Again.

Let go
Of thought –

Again,
Again.

The world
Retreats –

Again,
Again.

And God
Is all –

Again,
Again.
