Seek God

Seek God
In your desert;

Seek him
Night and day.

Seek him
In your ruins;

Seek him
When you stray.

Seek God
In your wilderness;

Seek him
In the dark.

Seek him
In your brokenness;

Find him
In your heart.

The way to God
Lies through our howling wastelands,

Through suffering and failure,
Pain and fear;

Through brokenness, and grief,
And sharp temptation,

For when we’re in our desert
He is near.

Life

Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity (Hebrews 6:1; NIV).

A wise person thinks a lot about death (Ecclesiastes 7:4; NLT).

Lord,
Bless us all,
Throughout our lives:

Our struggles
To grow up,

To overcome
Our brokenness,

And search
Our inner depth.

Lord,
Bless us all,
Throughout our lives:

Our sickness
And decline,

The struggle to accept
Our fate,

Our letting go,
And death.

Brokenness

Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory
(1 Corinthians 15:43; NLT).

God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you” (Hebrews 13:5; NLT).

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me (Psalm 16:8; NLT).

If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God (Isaiah 50:10; NLT).

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me (Psalm 23:4; NLT).

Lord,
Thank you for being with us
In our brokenness –

In sickness,
Sorrow,

Failure,
Sin,

And loss
Of faith –

Throughout
Our lives,

In death,
And for eternity.
