Silence

Silence

Stand in silence in the presence of the Sovereign LORD (Zephaniah 1:7; NLT).

Be silent before the LORD, all humanity (Zechariah 2:13; NLT).

O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God (Psalm 83:1; NIV).

He let you hear his voice from heaven so he could instruct you (Deuteronomy 4:36; NLT).

Lord,
Here I am,
At last.

I’m listening –
Please speak to me
In the silence.

Let me
Hear your voice again,
And try to do your will.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! (Isaiah 35:5-6; NLT).

A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all (Matthew 15:30; NLT).

Lord,
I am blind –
Please heal me,
So I can see your face.

I am deaf –
Please heal me,
So  can hear your voice.

I am lame –
Please heal me,
So I can dance with joy.

I am dumb –
Please heal me,
So I can sing your praise.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy
(Isaiah 35:5-6; NIV).

Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor”
(Matthew 11:4-5; NIV).

Lord,
I am blind –
Open my eyes,
So I can see your truth.

Lord,
I am deaf –
Unstop my ears,
So I can hear your voice.

Lord,
I am lame –
Strengthen my limbs,
So I can follow you.

Lord,
I am mute –
Open my mouth,
So I can sing your praise.

Amen.
