Does a baby bless its parents?
Does a tree thank rain, or earth?
In the same way, we, your offspring,
Disregard you from our birth.
Does a fish believe in water?
Does a bird have faith in air?
In the same way, we, your children,
Take for granted all your care.
Does a mountain know its maker?
Does a river sense its source?
In the same way, we, your people,
Shrug you off without remorse.
Does the world revere your body?
Does mankind extol your blood?
In the same way, we, your dear ones,
Fail to recognise your love.

The Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion (Isaiah 30:18; NLT).

Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognised him (Luke 24:31; NLT).
