May I never stop praying

May I never
Stop praying,

Nor utter
A final amen;

But pray day and night
In your temple,

Until my life’s battle
Is done.

May I never
Stop praying,

Nor utter
A final amen;

But pray to the end,
As your Son did,

Until my life’s battle
Is won.

Never stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17; NLT).

She never left the temple but stayed there day and night, worshipping God with fasting and prayer (Luke 2:37; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit (Luke 23:46; KJV).

Who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God  (1 John 5:5; NLT).

Just think!

Just think
How Jesus’ life

Might have turned out
If God had intervened.

Just think of all
We sinners would have lost!

Lord, may our lives
Be just the same as yours –

Facing whatever happens
With God’s help,

Rather than wanting him
To end our pain.

Father, if you are willing, please take this cup off suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine (Luke 22:42; NLT).

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; NIV).

Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows (John 16:33; NLT).

Though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

I was given a thorn in my flesh […] Three times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:7-9; NLT).

Our essence

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence (Hebrews 1:3; NET).

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him (John 1:3; NLT).

God is Spirit (John 4:24; NLT).

“I am the Alpha and the Omega – the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God (Revelation 1:8; NLT).

You are our essence,
And our centre.

You are our maker,
And our friend.

You are our life-blood,
And our spirit.

You’re our beginning,
And our end.

The way of love

Follow the way of love (1 Corinthians 14:1; NIV).

The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; NIV).

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5; NLT).

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13; NLT).

God is love (1 John 4:16; NIV).

May we never stop trying
To follow your way of love
Until we are absorbed
Back into you,
The source and destination
Of our lives,
For you are love.

Standing my ground

Stand your ground (Ephesians 6:14; NLT).

Speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15; NLT).

Now I stand on solid ground (Psalm 26:12; NLT).

Toxic people want relationships
On their terms only.

That’s sad,
But fine with me.

If they can’t handle
Me just being who I am,

Standing my ground,
And speaking my truth with love,

Then we cannot have
A relationship of any kind,

And that’s the end of it.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it (John 1:5; NLT).

In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and turns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! (Luke 15:7; NLT).

The LORD looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one. Will those who do evil never learn? They eat up my people like bread and wouldn’t think of praying to the LORD (Psalm 14:2-4; NLT).

The end of the world is coming soon (1 Peter 4:7; NLT).

You are beyond stillness,
And darkness –

Dancing with joy
When we repent
And turn to you;

Weeping over our selfishness,
And violence;

And watching us indulge
Our darkest impulses unchecked,
As we bring our fragile planet
Ever closer to its end.
