Today and evermore

We know that you are love,
Lord God,

And those
Who live in love

Will live in you,
And you in them

Today,
And evermore.

So, may we live
In ceaseless love

For you, and all the world,
Lord God,

With thanks, with joy,
With constant prayer,

Today,
And evermore.

Time

Before our birth, Lord,
Time does not exist,

For we are an eternal part
Of you.

Then, during life,
Time seems so very real –

It governs all we think,
And feel, and do.

But when we die,
Time loses its dominion,

And we’re set free
To meet you at the door.

So time is nothing more
Than an illusion,

And we are one with you,
For evermore.

More like you

The Lord – who is the Spirit – makes us more and more like him (2 Corinthians 3:18; NLT).

Lord God,

Please make me
More and more
Like you.

And my soul
Be more like
Your soul,

Now,
And for evermore,
Amen.

Your willing slave

The slave may declare, ‘I love my master [and] I don’t want to go free’ (Exodus 21:6; NLT).

I would even be willing to become a slave, washing the feet of his servants (1 Samuel 25:41; NLT).

Since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet (John 13:14; NLT).

Whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave (Matthew 20:27; NIV).

Lord God,
May I be bound to you –

Your willing slave for life,
And evermore,

Amen.
