The apple of your eye

Keep me as the apple of your eye (Psalm 17:8; NIV).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

I will be your Father, and you and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty (2 Corinthians 6:18; NLT).

Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy! (Psalm 126:3; NLT).

Lord God,
We are the apple of your eye –

Your much-loved sons,
Your precious, cherished daughters –

Ah,
What joy!

Beyond all beauty

Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us (Psalm 90:17; KJV).

God is light (1 John 1:5; NIV).

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! (Romans 11:33; NLT).

The Spirit is truth (1 John 5:6; NKJV).

******************************

Lord,
You’re beyond all beauty –
We can’t glimpse you;

Please open our eyes,
So we may see your light.

Lord,
You’re beyond all wisdom –
We can’t grasp you;

Please open our minds,
So we may hear your truth.

I lift my eyes

I lift my eyes to you, O God (Psalm 123:1; NLT).

Ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature (Romans 1:20; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

……………………………………………………….

I lift my eyes
To see you
All around me, Lord,

And close my eyes
To see you
In myself.

Silent prayer

No one has ever seen God (John 1:18; NLT).

I can’t even imagine the greatness of his power (Job 37:5; NLT).

Your own ears will hear him (Isaiah 30:21; NLT).

After the fire a still small voice (1 Kings 19:12; KJV).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

Be silent before the Sovereign Lord (Zephaniah 1:7; NIV).

……………………………………………………………..

Lord,
Our eyes can’t see you,
Nor can our words
Describe your greatness,
Or your power;

But our ears can hear
Your precious, still, small voice,
And our hearts can receive
Your love, in silent prayer.

Light

Light

God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5; NIV).

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me, will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12; NIV).

God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil (John 3:19; NLT).

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love (Ephesians 5:1-2; NIV).

Father,
Your light streams out
Into the darkness
Of our world,
But we close our eyes to it,
And turn our backs on you,
Choosing sin and evil,
Rather than your way of love.
