I love you

I love you, Lord;
Please visit me,
Until I am your dwelling-place.

I love you, Lord;
Repose in me,
Until I am your quiet space.

I love you, Lord;
Abide in me,
Until my words
express your grace.

I love you, Lord;
Reside in me,
Until my arms give your embrace.

I love you, Lord;
Remain in me,
Until my eyes reflect your face.

I lift my hands

Lord,
I lift my hands to you,
May my being sing:
All praise to you, the Holy One,
My Father, and my King.

Lord,
I lift my eyes to you,
May my tongue rejoice:
All praise to you, the Holy One,
My Living God, my Choice.

Lord,
I lift my face to you,
May my actions say:
All praise to you, the Holy One,
My Life, my Truth, my Way.

Lord,
I lift my heart to you,
May my prayers express:
All praise to you, the Holy One,
My Goal, my Path, my Quest.

Lord,
I lift my soul to you,
May my spirit cry:
All praise to you, the Holy One,
Until the day I die.

Lord,
When we close our eyes
To your presence
In all you have created,
Our lives become pointless,
Empty,
And depressing.

Please open our eyes
To see you in the world,
In everyone we meet,
And even in ourselves.
