Everlasting light

Holy Spirit,
Fill us,

Dwell in us,
And help us;

Guide us to Christ’s truth,
His way, his life.

Holy Spirit,
Comfort us,

Counsel us;
Encourage us;

Lead us to God’s
Everlasting light.

You are always present,
Here and now, Lord,

For you fill the world around me,
And within.

I needn’t seek you, yearn for you,
Or wait, Lord,

For in you I live and move,
And have my being.

I just turn to you, believe you,
And receive you, Lord,

For you fill the world around me,
And within.

Father,
There are days
When you seem
Very far away;

And days when you’re as close
As breathing,
Closer than my heartbeat.

But,
In fact,
You never change at all:

You are within me,
And around me,
All the time,

Filling the world,
And holding my life
In your hands.
