Inner truth

Our prayers should voice
Our inner truth,

But we are
Deeply flawed,

And though we often
Fool ourselves,

You see our hearts,
Dear Lord.

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me […] You perceive my thoughts from afar […] You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely (Psalm 139:1-4; NIV).

If we claim to have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth (1 John 1:8; NLT).

People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7; NIV).

It doesn’t matter

The eternal God is your refuge (Deuteronomy 33:27; NLT).

The Lord [is] strong and mighty (Psalm 24:8; NLT).

Your heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48; NIV).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

It doesn’t matter
That I’m old,
For you’re eternal.

It doesn’t matter
That I’m weak,
For you are strong.

It doesn’t matter
That I’m flawed,
For you are perfect.

It doesn’t matter
That I’m nothing –
We are one.
