We know that after death
All souls are one with you,
And yet we fail to grasp that here, in life,
The same is true.

So how can we hate others, Lord,
Ignore, exploit, condemn,
When they are one with us, and we, like you,
Are one with them?

When we look down on others, Lord,
And try to shut them out,
This proves we do not love ourselves,
Whatever words we spout.

All concepts of me, us and them,
Are ignorant and blind,
For we are one with you, Lord God,
And with all humankind.

Forgive us, Lord; we are ashamed.
Please cleanse us with your blood;
And help us all to follow you,
By offering your love.

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one – as you are in me, Father, and I am in you (John 17:21; NLT).

Why do you despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgement seat of God (Romans 14:10; RSV).

Love your neighbour as yourself (mark 12:31; NLT).

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28; NKJV).

Follow me and be my disciple (Matthew 9:9; NLT).

Anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:8; NLT).

On loan

Father God,
You make me and sustain me;
Each atom of my flesh
Is yours, on loan.

Thank you for my body,
Your Son’s birthplace,
My shelter here on earth
Till I come home.

Prince of Peace,
You heal me and forgive me;
May all my thoughts be worthy
Of your trust.

Thank you for my mind,
Your sacred lodging,
My fragile home
Till I return to dust.

You strengthen me and help me;
May every word I speak
Bring joy to you.

Thank you for my heart,
Your holy dwelling,
My refuge here on earth
Till life is through.

Threefold God,
You crown me and redeem me;
May everything I do
Express your care.

Thank you for my soul,
Your holy temple,
Where we unite forever, Lord,
In prayer.

He will be called: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

May I grasp what’s private,
And respect it;

Confess each sin to you

Say sorry
When I hurt another person,

And hurry to forgive
Those who hurt me.

A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence (Proverbs 11:13; NLT).

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9; RSV).

If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift (Matthew 5:23-4; NIV).

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins (Matthew 6:14-15; NLT).

I cling to you

I cling to you who made me,
You who know me,
And sustain me.

I cling to you who sees me,
You who hear me,
And forgive me.

I cling to you who loves me,
You who guide me,
And defend me.

I cling to you who saves me,
You who heal me,
And redeem me.

Never stop praying

If you never stop praying,
With nothing concealed,
And confess all your failings
Your mind will be healed.

If you thank God unceasingly,
Love without end,
And worship him gladly
Your heartache will mend.

If you’re always rejoicing,
Forgiving each wrong,
And asking God’s mercy
Your soul will grow strong.

So, live in his presence,
Commune day and night,
Then you will eternally
Walk in his light.

Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; NLT).

The godly will live in your presence (Psalm 140:13; NLT).

She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshipping God with fasting and prayer (Luke 2:36-7; NLT).

Blessed are those […] who walk in the light of your presence, Lord (Psalm 89:15; NIV).

Never let me go

Oh, my Lord,
I love you so.

Forgive me;
Never let me go

Until I enter
Heaven’s gate,

Where I will no more
Watch and wait.

Oh, my Lord,
I love you so.

Please help me;
Never let me go

Until I reach
Your open door

To dwell in you
For evermore.

Oh, my Lord,
I love you so.

Please hold me;
Never let me go

Until I fall
On bended knee,

To worship you

I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour (Micah 7:7; NIV).

All who live in love live in God (1 John 4:16; NLT).

Worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness (Psalm 29:2; NIV).

Thank you, Lord

Thank you, Lord,
For loving us so much,
And waiting for us all
To turn to you;

For always being ready
To forgive,
And wanting us
To share your Spirit too.

Thank you, Lord,
For sending us your Son,
Our teacher, shepherd,
Living bread, and light;

Who died for us
So we can be forgiven,
And shows, in human form,
What you are like.

The Lord must wait for you to come to him (Isaiah 30:18; NLT).

He forgives all my sins (Psalm 103:3; NLT).

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; RSV).

Christ […] died for sinners to bring you safely home to God (1 Peter 3:18; NLT).

In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form (Colossians 2:9; NIV).
