Never let me go

Oh, my Lord,
I love you so.

Forgive me;
Never let me go

Until I enter
Heaven’s gate,

Where I will no more
Watch and wait.

*

Oh, my Lord,
I love you so.

Please help me;
Never let me go

Until I reach
Your open door

To dwell in you
For evermore.

*

Oh, my Lord,
I love you so.

Please hold me;
Never let me go

Until I fall
On bended knee,

To worship you
Eternally.

Thank you, Lord

Thank you, Lord,
For loving us so much,
And waiting for us all
To turn to you;

For always being ready
To forgive,
And wanting us
To share your Spirit too.

Thank you, Lord,
For sending us your Son,
Our teacher, shepherd,
Living bread, and light;

Who died for us
So we can be forgiven,
And shows, in human form,
What you are like.

You gaze at me

You gaze at me,
I gaze at you;
We love each other
Through and through.

Help me to grow
More like your Son
In mind and heart,
Till life is done.

Then my small soul
Will join with yours –
Forgiven, healed,
Redeemed, restored.

Unfailing love

Lord,

You love us,
Even when we don’t love you.

You care for us,
Even when we ignore you.

You help us,
Even when we don’t serve you.

You forgive us
Even when we hurt you.

You remember us,
Even when we forget you.

You see us,
Even when we don’t seek you.

You hear us,
Even when we don’t listen to you;

And you know us
Even when we don’t acknowlege you.

Thank you, Lord,
For your unfailing love.

My sorry life

Lord,
I lay my sorry life
Before you –

Folly, weakness,
Ignorance,
And fear.

Sickness, sin,
Self-pity,
Deep resentment –

This is the
Wretched harvest
Of each year.

Hear me, Lord,
As I bow down
Before you;

Save me,
Though I have betrayed
Your trust.

Forgive my sins;
Restore and heal
My body;

And lift up
My poor spirit
From the dust.

I sigh for you

O, my Lord, I sigh for you.
Let me start my life anew.
Then I’ll leave my sins behind,
And try to love all humankind.

O, my Lord, I long for you.
Let me start my life anew.
Then I will forgive each foe,
And work to pay back all I owe.

O, my Lord, I yearn for you.
Let me start my life anew.
Then I’ll never judge, or hate,
And always seek your narrow gate.

O, my Lord, I thirst for you.
Let me start my life anew.
Then I’ll bravely face each fear,
And strive to serve your kingdom, here.
