I cling to you

I cling to you who made me,
You who know me,
And sustain me.

I cling to you who sees me,
You who hear me,
And forgive me.

I cling to you who loves me,
You who guide me,
And defend me.

I cling to you who saves me,
You who heal me,
And redeem me.

He himself gives life and breath to everything (Acts 17:25; NLT).

You are the God who sees me (Genesis 16:13; NLT).

He hears us (1 John 5:14; NIV).

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases (Psalm 103:3; NLT).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage (Psalm 55:18; ESV).

You are the way

You are the way
We dare not take;

You are the hope
We dare not wake.

You are the step
We dare not try;

You are the word
We dare not cry.

You are the life
We dare not live;

You are the love
We dare not give.

You are the guide
We dare not ask;

You are the truth
We dare not grasp.

You are the fire
We dare not face;

Yet you are the Lord,
Our resting-place.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6; NLT).

His name will be the hope of all the world (Matthew 12:21; NLT).

In the beginning was the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1; NLT).

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them (Romans 12.9; NLT).

I am the good shepherd (John 10:14; NLT).

The Lord your God is a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24).

You have not yet reached the resting-place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you (Deuteronomy 12:9; NIV).

Then Jesus said, “Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28; NLT).

Christ within

Christ within:
Our shield from sin.

Christ without:
Our guard from doubt.

Christ below:
Our spur to grow.

Christ above:
Our store of love.

Christ beside:
Our constant guide.

Christ beyond:
Our common bond.

Christ lives within you (Romans 8:10; NLT).

He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 1:14; NLT).

Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives (Galatians 5:16; NLT).

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28; NIV).

Everlasting light

Holy Spirit,
Fill us,

Dwell in us,
And help us;

Guide us to Christ’s truth,
His way, his life.

Holy Spirit,
Comfort us,

Counsel us;
Encourage us;

Lead us to God’s
Everlasting light.

Be filled the Holy Spirit (Luke 10:21; NLT).

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16; NKJV).

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26; NLT).

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13; NLT).

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6; NLT).

He will give you another Advocate [Comforter, Encourager, Counsellor], who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth (John 14:16-17; NLT).

The Lord your God will be your everlasting light (Isaiah 60:19; NLT).

The way of love

How can we learn
To tell your voice
From ours, Lord?

Yours always guides us
In the way of love.

How can we learn
To tell your will
From ours, Lord?

Yours always guides us
In the path of peace.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21; NIV).

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children, and walk in the way of love (Ephesians 5:2; NIV).

I want your will to be done, not mine (Luke 22:42; NLT).

The morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace (Luke 1:79-80; NLT).

We can’t give hope

We can’t give hope to others
When we have none of our own.

We can’t love other people
When we hate to be alone.

We can’t guide other people
When we do not know the way,

Nor help them find their heaven
When we live in hell each day.

They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future (Jeremiah 17:6; NLT).

Darkness is my closest friend (Psalm 88:18; NLT).

Some wandered in the wilderness, lost and homeless (Psalm 107:4; NLT).

God blesses those who […] realise their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs (Matthew 5:3; NLT).

If I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there (Psalm 139:8; NKJV).

To acquire wisdom is to love oneself (Proverbs 19:8; NLT).

The process of learning to forgive

The process
Of learning to forgive
Those who have damaged us
Most deeply

Is a lifelong masterclass,
With you, Lord, as our guide,
Helping us to grow
Much more like you.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34; KJV).

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5; NIV).

We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; NLT).

We will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ (Ephesians 4:15; NLT).

It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20; NLT).
