Cares

Give all you worries and cares to God, for he cares about you (1 Peter 5:7; NLT).

In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind (Job 12:10; NIV).

My future is in your hands (Psalm 31:14-15; NLT).

Lord,
During meditation
I put all my cares
Into your hands –

Though, in fact,
They are already
Safely there!

Oneness

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine” (Isaiah 55:8; NLT).

We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power (Job 37:5; NLT).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

Lord,
You are greater
Than I can ever imagine,

Yet my hands
Are your hands,

My feet
Are your feet,

My heart
Is your heart,

And my soul
Is your soul –

For we
Are one.

God

His glory towers over the earth and heaven! (Psalm 148:13; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

You are close beside me (Psalm 23:4; NLT).

You are God, O Lord (1 Chronicles 17:26; NLT).

Our lives are in his hands (Psalm 66:9; NLT).

Outside,
Inside,
Close beside us,

You are God –
Our lives
Are in your hands.

Prayer

I lift my hands to you in prayer (Psalm 143:6; NLT).

I lift my eyes to you, O God (Psalm 123:1; NLT).

Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven (Lamentations 3:41; NLT).

Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul (Psalm 25:1; KJV).

Lord,
I lift my hands to you
In prayer;

I lift my eyes to you
In faith;

I lift my heart to you
In love;

And I lift my soul to you
In awe.

Through Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Life

Life

For in him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28, NIV).

All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things. When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust (Psalm 104:27-9; NIV).

Then he [Job] fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised” (Job 1:20-21; NIV).

Lord,
My life is entirely
In your hands.

Please show me your will,
And help me
To follow it.

That’s all I ask.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
