Prayer

Time out

There is one Lord […] who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

In him we live and move and have our being (Act 17:28; NIV).

You are the temple of the living God (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

Meditation offers us time out
From the uniquely human illusion
That we are separate
From all living things,
Including God.

Temple

We are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21; KJV).

There is one Lord… who is over all and in all and living through all
(Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

Lord,
You are ours,
And we are wholly yours –

For we are your temple,
And your kingdom
Can be found
Within us all.

Living God

They seem to think that God is dead (Psalm 10:4; NLT).

There is… one God and Father, who is over all in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

He is the living God (Jeremiah 10:10; NLT).

Lord,
Some of us believe
You don’t exist,
Or that you’re dead.

So we no longer
Listen for your voice,
Or look for you
Within the natural world;

Or try to find you
In all those we meet,
Or seek you
Deep in our heart and soul.

But once we’ve given up
All exploration,
How will we ever find you,
Living God?

Living to the full

The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised (Job 1:21; NIV).

Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? (Job 2:10; NIV).

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10; NLT).

Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; NLT).

Lord,
Help us to face life joyfully,
Not just when all is going well,
But also when trouble strikes.

May we experience everything
To the full,
Praying continually,
And thanking you
In all circumstances –
Whatever life brings.

Through Jesus’ name,
Amen.
