I long for you

My God, my God,
I long for you,
Though you are always here,
Within my body.

My God, my God,
I yearn for you,
Though you are always here,
Within my mind.

My God, my God,
I thirst for you,
Though you are always here,
Within my heart, Lord.

My God, my God,
I search for you,
Though you always here,
Within my soul.

In good and ill

Many thanks to Corrin Leavey,
who painted this beautiful artwork,
and allowed me to use it.

In good and ill
I long for you,
And you, Lord,
Long for me.

In good and ill
I seek you, Lord,
And you, Lord God,
Seek me.

In good and ill
I talk to you,
And you, Lord,
Talk to me.

In good and ill
I love you, Lord,
And you, Lord God,
Love me.

Live in hope

Hello everyone, I’m just home from hospital. Still pretty sedated and absolutely exhausted, but very glad to be here. More comfortable without wound drain and cannula. My love to you all XXXXXX

Lord,
When we stop trying
To be something
We are not,
And start accepting
All of what we are,
Then we begin
To live in hope,
With you.

When we stop longing
To be something
We are not,
And start accepting
All of what we are,
Then we begin
To live in peace,
With you.

When we stop dying
To be something
We are not,
And start accepting
All of what we are,
Then we begin
To live in love,
With you.

Wrestling with God

May we wrestle with you, Father,
In our darkness,

Rather than just longing
For your light.

I’m nothing

Hello to all readers. Christmas is a time when many of us struggle with depression and suicidal feelings. Today’s prayer is for everyone who has fought hard and heroically just to stay alive over recent days and weeks. Tomorrow’s blog will follow on from today’s, with some answers to the questions this prayer poses.

**************************************

How can I say
I’m nothing,
When you made me?

How can I feel
I’m nothing,
When you care?

How can I hate my life
When you, Lord,
Love me?

How can I long for death
When you
Are here?
