Existence

Lord God,

I pray for everyone
Who thinks you don’t exist –

For those
Who never say a prayer,

For those
Who do not seek you out,

For those who don’t know
You must wait for us

And what
They miss.

Your will be done

The only thing I ask today
Is, Lord, Your will be done.

I have no wishes of my own,
Except Your will be done.

I want to serve you, as Christ did,
So that Your will be done,

By loving all who cross my path,
For then Your will be done.

Inner truth

Our prayers should voice
Our inner truth,

But we are
Deeply flawed,

And though we often
Fool ourselves,

You see our hearts,
Dear Lord.
