Every movement

Seek his face always (1 Chronicles 16:11; NIV).

Now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12; NRSV).

The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; NIV).

Every movement,
Every action,
Every pace

Brings me closer, Lord,
To seeing
Your dear face.

Every moment,
Every heartbeat,
Every breath

Brings me closer, Lord,
To seeing you
In death.

One moment

Be silent before the Sovereign Lord (Zephaniah 1:7; NIV).

Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10; NIV).

If, in an hour’s silence,
I only manage
To still my mind
For one precious moment,
The effort is
Entirely worthwhile!

The eternal God

Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away (Psalm 144:4; HNV).

We have this hope as a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls (Hebrews 6:19; NLT).

The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you (Deuteronomy 33:27; NLT).

I am the Lord, and I do not change (Malachi 3:6; NLT).

As we pass through life,
Each moment we experience
Is gone forever.

So, may we anchor our souls
In you alone,
The eternal God,
Who does not change at all.

Be still in the presence of the LORD (Psalm 37:7; NLT).

Stand in silence in the presence of the Sovereign LORD (Zephaniah 1:7; NLT).

“How can someone like me, your servant, talk to you, my lord? My strength is gone, and I can hardly breathe” (Daniel 10:17; NLT).

You are here.

I’m still,
I’m silent,
And I hardly dare to breathe –
In case I spoil the moment.

Thank you for your presence,
And your love.
