Contemplation

The stillness we avoid
Is full of movement.

The darkness we eschew
Is full of light.

The silence we evade
Is full of music.

The solitude we shun
Is full of you.

“Keep on seeking, and you will find” (Matthew 7:7; NLT).

Father,
I seek you with all my heart.

May I find you
Always and everywhere –

In town
And country,

In sound
And silence,

In movement
And stillness,

In darkness
And light,

In company
And solitude,

In joy
And grief,

In life,
And in death.

Lord,
May I find you
Always and everywhere –

In the name
Of your dear Son.

Amen.
