We are not separate

Neither death nor life […] nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-9; NIV).

There is […] one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one (John 17:21; NLT).

We are not separate from you,
Nor are you separate from us;

We are not separate from nature,
Nor is nature separate from us;

We are not separate from others,
Nor are others separate from us;

For nothing is separate from you,
And nothing is separate from us.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them (1 John 4:16; NIV).

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; NIV).

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us (1 John 5:14; NIV).

My Father,
Dear One,
And holy,
Why do you listen
To my halting,
Mixed-up prayers?

Ah –
It’s because you are love;
Your very nature
Is to love
And nurture
All you have made.

Thank you,
My dear One,
For loving us all
So much.

Thank you
For hearing my prayers,
Though I am nothing,
And you are everything.
