In your light

Hello, everyone. I woke at 5am today, and, to my great joy and relief, received the inspiration to start writing again. Thank you so much to those who sent messages of comfort, support and encouragement. So, here is today’s newly-minted prayer:

I hold my friends, Lord,
In your light,
Which streams into the world
Both day and night.

I hold my neighbours
In your peace,
Which streams into the world, Lord,
Without cease.

I hold my foes, Lord,
In your truth,
Which streams into the world
To end abuse.

I hold all people
In your blood,
Which streams into the world
To bring us love.

To love my neighbour,
Help me to remember
We are one.

To love a foreigner,
Help me to remember
We are one.

Oneness

One with you, Lord,
One with all –
This, our blessing,
This, our call.

One with neighbour,
Stranger, foe –
All are one
In your love’s flow.

This our treasure;
This our task –
This is all
We need to ask.

One in body,
Heart, and mind –
Seeing more
Means we are blind!

One great Soul
Beyond all price –
Oneness, Lord,
Is paradise.

Every time I fail

Lord,

Every time I fail
To love my neighbours,

Strangers, migrants,
Enemies, or friends,

May I admit my guilt and shame
Before you,

Then turn to them,
And try to make amends.

Love is not finite

Love is not finite, Lord,
It grows!

It multiplies, spills over,
Flows

From you to us,
From us to all,

For you are great,
Though we are small;

From us to neighbour,
Stranger, foe,

No matter where we live,
Or go;

Till, like your Son,
We burn with love –

At one with you,
In heaven above.
