Ask, seek, knock

Can a person do anything to help God? Can even a wise person be helpful to him? (Job 22:2; NLT).

If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it (Psalm 50:7,12; NLT).

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7; NLT).

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known (1 Corinthians 13:12; NIV).

Father,

There is nothing I can do
To impress you.

Neither do you need my help
In any way.

Yet still you love me,
And desire my love.

So I’ll keep on
Seeking you,

And  knocking at your door,
Until it opens.

Then I will see you,
Face to face, at last,

And know you fully,
Just as I am fully known.

I’m nothing

How can I say I’m nothing,
When you made me?

How can I feel I’m nothing,
When you care?

How can I hate my life,
When you, Lord, love me?

How can I long for death,
When you are here?

In myself, I’m nothing

Hello everyone, just a quick update: I’m slowly recovering from my surgery at home, and have started to write again. This prayer is fresh from yesterday morning, with further work to complete it today XXXXX

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
For I am but a dream;

Yet I can love you, Father God,
The One who rules supreme.

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
For I am less than dust;

Yet I can honour Mary, Lord,
Who gave you all her trust.

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
And few will mourn my loss;

Yet I can serve your only Son,
Who died upon the cross.

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
For I am very weak;

Yet I can host your Spirit, Lord,
For blessed are the meek.

Lord, I know
I’m nothing,

But I don’t mind this
At all,

For as long
As you live through me,

I will rise up
When I fall.

You love me

Hello, everyone. Here is my response to the questions posed by yesterday’s blog:

Lord God,

Though I am even less
Than nothing,
You made me,
And you keep me,
Every day;

You help me
Face my trials
And my sorrows,
Because you love me deeply,
Come what may.

I am nothing (Job 40:4; NLT).

You made me (Psalm 119:73; NLT).

The Lord keeps me alive (Psalm 54:4; NLT).

Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows (John 16:33; NLT).

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

May you have the power to understand […] how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is (Ephesians 3:18; MLT).

I’m nothing

Hello to all readers. Christmas is a time when many of us struggle with depression and suicidal feelings. Today’s prayer is for everyone who has fought hard and heroically just to stay alive over recent days and weeks. Tomorrow’s blog will follow on from today’s, with some answers to the questions this prayer poses.
