Prayer, prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,

Beneath my outward self

Today’s prayer follows directly on from yesterday’s:

In his shadow have I rapture (Song of Songs 2:3; DYB).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21; KJV).

Beneath my outward self:
My shadow.

Beneath my shadow self:
Your peace.

Beneath that peace:
Your wordless rapture.

Beneath that wordless rapture:

What counts?

What counts?

Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness (Matthew 23:28; NLT).

I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold (John 10.16).

My Father’s house has many rooms (John 14:2).

Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him” (Acts 10:34-5).

It’s not what we say we believe
That counts with you, is it?

It’s how we seek you,
How we live,
And how we behave towards others.

It’s everything we think,
And say,
And do –

No matter what name
We call you by,
Or how we worship you.

* A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit , not by the written code (Romans 2:28-9; NIV).

*Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only’ ”
(Luke 4:8; NIV).

* Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28; NIV).

By the power of your Holy Spirit,
Please circumcise my mind,
My heart,
And my soul.

Mark me for life,
So everyone will know
I belong to you,
My Lord and my God,
And you only will I worship and serve.
