Suffused with light

Suffused with light,
Forgiven, healed,

I rest, Lord, in the love
You have revealed;

For you gave us
Your precious, only Son,

Who fought the power
Of sin and death –

And won!

The Lord my God lights up my darkness (Psalm 18:28; NLT).

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases (Psalm 103:3; NLT).

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28; NLT).

God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; NLT).

For God presented Jesus as a sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. (Romans 3:25; NLT).

Death could not keep him in its grip (Acts 2:24; NLT).

Prayer, suffering, life, courage, help, bear, illness, mental, physical,

She […] laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them (Luke 2:7; NLT).

As he was praying, the appearance of his face was transformed, and his clothes became dazzling white (Luke 9:29; NLT).

He was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood (Luke 22:44; NLT).

When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross(Luke 23:33; NLT).

The ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God (1 Peter 1:19; NLT).

What could have been more gritty
Than your birth, Lord?

What could have been more treasured
Than your breath?

What could have been more costly
Than your life, Lord?

What could have been more brutal
Than your death?

What could have been more dazzling
Than your light, Lord?

What could have been more earnest
Than your love?

What could have been more bitter
Than your anguish?

What could have been more precious
Than your blood?

Prayer, prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,

Closer to death

How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble! (Job 14:1; NLT).

Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts (Psalm 90:12; CSB).

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind (Luke 10:27; NLT).

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them (Romans 12.9; NLT).

We draw closer to death
Each precious day.

Help us to make
The best use
Of our time,

So we may grow
In love for you,
And all.

Precious in your eyes

Why wasn’t I born dead? Why didn’t I die as I came from the womb? (Job 3:11; NLT).

I hate my life and don’t want to go on living (Job 7:16; NLT).

We know how much God loves us (1 John 4:16; NLT).

The Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost (Luke 19:10; NLT).

Their lives are precious to him (Psalm 72:14; NLT).

From birth, it was made clear
I was a burden,

Although I never asked
To be alive.

As an adult, mental illness
Made life hell,

But I was too afraid
For suicide.

Yet now I understand
How much you love me,

And that I’m not a burden,
But a prize;

For you sent your Son to earth
To save each one of us,

And all of us are precious
In your eyes.

For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17; NLT).

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins (Ephesians 1:7; NLT).

He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone (1 Timothy 2:6; NLT).

Thank you for the freedom
To think for myself,
Read what I want,
Speak my mind,
Go where I wish,
Do what I think best,
And worship as I choose.

Please help all those
Throughout the world
Who don’t have
These precious freedoms.

In Jesus’ name,
