When I’m sick

When I’m sick, Lord,
Help me still to serve you.

When I’m hurt, Lord,
Help me to forgive.

When I sin, Lord,
Help me to say sorry.

Then, though I am dust,
I’ll fully live!

Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only (Luke 4:8; NIV).

When you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too (Mark 11:25; NLT).

If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift (Matthew 5:23-4; NIV).

I am nothing but dust and ashes (Genesis 18:27; NIV).

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10; NIV).

Prayer, spiritual development, personal growth, faith, exploration, wholeness,

Peter’s shadow

Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying – I don’t know the man!” (Matthew 26:74; NLT).

Sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by (Act 5:15; NLT).

I will give you treasures hidden in darkness (Isaiah 45:3; NLT).

Peter’s inner shadow
Must have been quite big –

In fear, he even swore
He didn’t know you.

Yet, after he received
Your Holy Spirit,

Where his precious shadow fell,
The sick were healed!

In darkness

You have brought me into your presence forever (Psalm 41:12; NLT).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

I’m in darkness,
But you’re with me;
I am lonely,
But you’re here.

I’m distressed,
But you are with me;
I am anxious,
But you’re here.

I am sick,
But you are with me;
I’m in pain,
But you are here;

I’m afraid,
But you are with me;
I am dying,
But you’re here.

Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying (Romans 12.12; NLT).

Patient endurance is what you need now (Hebrews 10:36; NLT).

The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-3; NLT).

Please help me
To be patient
When I’m depressed
Or anxious,
Or suffering
In any way
At all.

Through Jesus’ name,
