God’s essence

This prayer comes with many thanks to Fr. Leo Cooper for his inspiring words.

God is the essence
Of truth.

His Spirit descends
Like a sword

To strengthen his Son
For a lifetime,

For Christ is his essence

God is the essence
Of healing.

His Spirit descends
Like a dove

To dwell in his Son
For a lifetime,

For Christ
Is the essence of love.

The very essence of your [God’s] words is truth (Psalm 119:160; NLT).

The Spirit is truth (1 John 5:6; NKJV).

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6; NLT).

The word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires (Hebrews 4:12; NLT).

Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword (Matthew 10:34; NLT).

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence (Hebrews 1:3; NET).

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14; NIV).

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28; NLT).

I am the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15:26; NLT).

As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove (Mark 1:10; NLT).

This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased (Matthew 17:5; NIV).

Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River (Luke 4:1; NLT).

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13; NIV).

Personal growth, faith, prayer, contemplation, love, oneness,

May I love you

May I love you,

May I serve you,

May I be your shrine

Each moment
Of my life.

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind (Luke 10:27; NLT).

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all” (Mark 9:35; NIV).

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16; NKJV).

prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,, spiritual development, personal growth, faith, exploration, wholeness,

One with you

Lord, we are forever
One with you.

We come from you; remain in you;
Return to you.

Your Spirit never leaves us,
Nor forsakes us –

Lord, we are forever
One with you.

Born from the oblivion
Of Eden,

And exiled to this world
To seek your way

Through all the trials and sorrows
Living brings us –

Lord, we are forever
One with you.

In time, we face
Gethsemane’s deep anguish,

And walk the lonely shadows
Of death’s vale,

Till exile ends,
And we come home to Eden –

Where, Lord, we are forever
One with you.

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5; NLT).

Remain in me, and I will remain in you (John 15:4; NLT).

The Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6; NIV).

I will be a sanctuary to you during your time in exile (Ezekiel 11:16; NLT).

Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows (John 16:33; NLT).

Walk in the way of love (Ephesians 5:2; NIV).

My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death (Matthew 26:38; NLT).

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; NIV).

Then we will be with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4:17; NLT).

prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,

The Spirit of God

Let us praise the Lord,
Our heavenly Father,

Who sent the Christ,
His Son, in whom we trust;

For the Spirit of our God
Lives in Christ Jesus,

And the Spirit of Christ Jesus
Lives in us.

God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; NLT).

I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark (John 12:46; NLT).

He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him (Matthew 3:16; NLT).

Those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all (Romans 8:9; NLT).

prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,

At one

Christ lives within you (Romans 8:10; NLT).

The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; NIV).

God is Spirit (John 4:24; NLT).

If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it (Matthew 10:39; NLT).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

When you and I
Can live no longer
In this body, Lord,

With all illusions
Of a self
Left on the shore,

My soul
Will be absorbed
Into your Spirit –

At one with you
In love,
For evermore.

Prayer, prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,

Father God,

Please fill me
With your Spirit.

Free me from fatigue;
Forgive my sin.

Give me peace of mind
And healing energy –

And help me take the time
To drink them in.

He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love (Romans 5:5; NLT).

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases (Psalm 103:3; NLT).

Those who hope in the Lord will find new their strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31; NLT).

I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart (John 14:27; NLT).

Wait patiently for the Lord (Psalm 27:14; NIV).

Prayer, spiritual development, personal growth, faith, exploration, wholeness,

Reach out to God

There is […] one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

In him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28, NIV).

All who live in love live in God, and God lives in them (1 John 4:16; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

Your joy will be complete (John 16:24; NLT).

Reach out to God
In everything around you;

Respond to him
In everyone you meet;

Reach in to God,
Whose temple is your spirit;

Worship him there –
Your joy will be complete.
