Easter Day

Happy Easter to you all xxxxxxx

Lord,

Helping those who suffer
Is the same as helping you –
This is what you taught your friends,
And I believe it’s true.

Lifting those who stumble
Is the same as lifting you –
Thus, Simon had to lend his strength,
So you could stand anew.

Serving those who perish
Is the same as serving you –
Like Mary, and her sister,
And their friend, the Magdalen.

Loving other people
Is the same as loving you –
As God loved you on Easter Day,
So you could rise again.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me (Matthew 25:40; NIV).

As they led Jesus away, a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, happened to be coming in from the countryside. The soldiers seized him and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus (Luke 23:26; NLT).

Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene (John 19:25; NLT).

God raised him to life on the third day (Acts 10:40; NLT).

I love you

I love you, Lord,
With all my strength,
But you deserve
Much more.

I love you, Lord,
With all my mind,
But you deserve
Much more.

I love you, Lord,
With all my heart,
But you deserve
Much more.

I love you, Lord,
With all my soul –
And I can do
No more.

Change

Change germinates in darkness
When we start to seek your light.

Peace springs up with forgiveness
Once we glimpse your sacrifice.

Strength slowly grows through sorrow
While we grasp your mortal fear;

And when our love matures, at last,
Your harvest-time is near.

The kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows but he does not understand how it happens. The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest-time has come (Mark 4:26-9; NLT).

The pain caused you to repent and change your ways (2 Corinthians 7:9; NLT).

This is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many (Matthew 26:28; NLT).

He [Jesus] prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood (Luke 22:44; NLT).

The fruit of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22; NIV).

Grow to maturity (2 Corinthians 13:11; NLT).

At harvest-time I will tell the reapers, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned, but then gather the wheat into my barn (Matthew 13:30; NET).

My only strength

Lord,

You are
My only strength –

I have none
Of my own.

I love you, Lord,
With all my mind –

May my thoughts
Be your home.

I love you, Lord,
With all my heart –

Your temple
Here on earth.

I love you, Lord,
With all my soul –

The stable
Of your birth.

Comfort and strength

Lord,

Comfort me,
And give me strength,

To face the trials
I must bear;

And may I comfort
Others, too,

And strengthen them,
When they must share

The suffering
None can avoid –

So we may grow
Like you.

Christ hears

Christ hears the prayers
Of our troubled minds,
As he pleads in Gethsemane.

Christ hears the prayers
Of our stricken hearts,
As he hangs on Golgotha’s tree.

Christ hears the prayers
Of our wretched souls,
As he yearns for death’s release.

Christ hears the prayers
Of our failing strength,
As he finds, at last, God’s peace.
