Hello to all readers. Today’s blog takes the form of two short pieces under the same heading, rather than one longer one:

Speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15; NLT).

1. The more we hide from others
What we truly think and feel,
The more depressed and anxious
We will be.

2. We build our prison,
Brick, by brick, by brick,
Out of all that we believe
We can’t express.

Love everyone

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them (Romans 12:9; NLT).

Love your neighbour as yourself (James 2:8; NLT).

Love ye therefore the stranger (Deuteronomy 10:19; KJV).

Love your enemies (Matthew 5:44; NIV).

Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing (Luke 23:34; NLT).

Love everyone,
Exactly as they are –

No matter what they’ve thought,
Or said, or done.

Love everyone,
Exactly as they are –

No matter how they hurt
Or let you down.

Love everyone,
Exactly as they are –

By following the lead
Of God’s own Son.

I have wandered away like a lost sheep (Psalm 119:176; NLT).

You are close beside me (Psalm 23:4; NLT).

Be sure of this: I am with you always (Matthew 28:20; NLT).

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

It’s better
To be lost
With you,
Than to think
I know the way
All on my own!

Like you

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ (Ephesians 5:2; NLT).

Speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ (Ephesians 4:15; NLT).

It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20; NLT).

I long to be like you –

To pray,
And act like you
Each day –
Always with love.

For then it will be
No longer I who live,
But you, within me.

I ask this
In your holy name,

Remembering God

“Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!” (Isaiah 49:15; NLT).

Please help me to remember you
Throughout today;

Or at least
To think of you often;

Or, at worst,
Just now and then…

Yet even when I forget you altogether,
You never forget me –

For which I thank you, Lord,
With all my heart.
