Prayer, suffering, life, courage, help, bear, illness, mental, physical,

Too tired

The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you (Deuteronomy 33:27; NLT).

You are close beside me (Psalm 23:4; NLT).

When I’m too tired or ill
To pray

I simply rest
In your eternal arms,

Closer to you, my God,
Than when I’m well.

Prayer, suffering, life, courage, help, bear, illness, mental, physical,

It’s okay

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

It’s okay
To be tired.

It’s okay
To be ill.

It’s okay
To be anxious.

It’s okay
To be still.

It’s okay
To be silent.

It’s okay
To feel fear.

It’s okay
To let go now –

It’s okay,
For I am here.

body, mind, heart, soul, realisation, important, prayer, contemplation,, Prayer

How can I serve you?

I am weary and worn out, O God (Proverbs 30:1; NLT).

Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer (Romans 12:12; NRSV).

How can I serve you, Lord,

With chronic illness?

I’m always tired,

And don’t go out much now.

I have so little energy

For helping others.

Instead, may I learn

To rejoice in hope, my Father,

To be patient in suffering,

And to persevere in prayer.

I’m so weak

I am weak (Psalm 6:2; NLT).

He remembers us in our weakness (Psalm 136:23; NLT).

My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9; NLT).

When I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:10; NLT).

I’m so weak,
And so tired.

All I can do
Is to love you,
And cling to you –

No matter what
Life brings.

A cry

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee (Psalm 102:1; KJV).

Darkness is all around me; thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere (Job 23:17; NLT).

I’m tired of darkness –
Please give me your light;

I’m tired of being cold –
Please give me your fire;

I’m tired of feeling anxious –
Please give me your peace;

And I’m tired of being alone –
Please give me your love.

Too tired

I am weary and worn out, O God (Proverb 30:1; NLT).

Be still, and know that I am God! (Psalm 46:10; NLT).

Be silent before the Sovereign Lord (Zephaniah 1:7; NIV).

I’m too tired

For speech
Or thought,

For praise
Or worship,

Or supplication.

So I can only
Rest before you, Lord,

In stillness,
And in silent contemplation.

So tired

Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens (Matthew 11:28; NLT).

I am too distressed even to pray (Psalm 77:4; NLT).

The Spirit… intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words (Romans 8:26; NRSV).

People are suffering all around me,
But I’m so tired and burdened
That I can’t even pray.

So, may your Holy Spirit
Intercede for them on my behalf,
With sighs too deep for words,

While I wait patiently on you,
In stillness,
And in silence.
