Oneness

One with you, Lord,
One with all –
This, our blessing,
This, our call.

One with neighbour,
Stranger, foe –
All are one
In your love’s flow.

This our treasure;
This our task –
This is all
We need to ask.

One in body,
Heart, and mind –
Seeing more
Means we are blind!

One great Soul
Beyond all price –
Oneness, Lord,
Is paradise.

Look for the truth

Look for the truth
Inherent in each person;

Look for the light
That flickers in each mind.

Look for the fire
Smouldering in each spirit;

Look for the treasure
Buried in each soul.

Look for the hurt
Concealed in every outburst;

Look for the spring
Untapped in every heart.

Look for the path
That Jesus wants to show you;

Look for the Lord –
And make his love your goal.

Inner peace

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it! (Matthew 13:45-6; NLT).

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field (Matthew 13:44; NLT).

The peace I give is a gift the world cannot give (John 14:27; NLT).

Father,
I’d sell everything I own
To buy your greatest treasure –
Inner peace.

But it’s well-hidden,
And I’ve sought it all my life
Without success.

In any case,
Peace simply can’t be bought,
For it’s a blessing you alone can give.

Darkness

He has plunged my path into darkness (Job 19:8; NLT).

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me (Psalm 23:4; NIV).

Darkness is my closest friend (Psalm 88:18; NLT).

Lord,
You gave me what I had,
Then took it away –
Plunging my path
Into darkness.

I’m terrified –
Even though
You’re with me
All the way.

Help me to walk courageously,
Discovering along the way
The unexpected treasures
Hidden here;

For then,
In time,
This darkness will become
My closest friend.
