prayer, healing, contemplation, oneness, love,

All things danced

All things danced
As I passed by today –

Grasses, trees and birds
Tossed by the wind,

Breakers in the bay,
Dogs running on the sands –

All seized with joy,
Including me,

All caught up
In wild ecstasy,

Dancing as one, with you, Lord God,
Upon your outstretched hands.

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven […] A time to grieve and a time to dance (Ecclesiastes 3:1; NLT).

The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs! (Psalm 114:4; NLT).

Rejoice forever in my creation! (Isaiah 65:18; NLT).

There is […] one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

In him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28, NIV).

The life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being (Job 12:10; NLT).

I lift my eyes

I lift my eyes to you (Psalm 123:1 NLT).

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul (Psalm 25:1; NKJV).

The Word gave life to everything that was created (John 1:4; NLT).

There is one Lord […] who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

I lift my eyes to you,
But you are hidden
By the darkness.

I lift my eyes to you,
But you are hidden
By the sky.

I lift my eyes to you,
But you are hidden
By the mountains.

I lift my eyes to you,
But you are hidden
By the trees.

Then I lift my soul to you,
And see your Word
Revealed –

Living over, in,
And through
All you create.

He is the creator of everything that exists (Jeremiah 10:16; NLT).

Surely the Lord is in this place (Genesis 28:16; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

You bless us
With your presence
In each hill,
And tree,
And stone;

And you bless us
With your presence
In each mind,
And heart,
And soul.

May I praise you

Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! (Psalm 63:3; NLT).

The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised (Job 1:21; NIV).

As swallows praise you
When they fly,

And as fir-trees praise you
When they sigh,

And as babies praise you
When they cry,

So, Lord, may I praise you,
When I die.

The tree

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! (Genesis 1:31; NLT).

She saw that the tree was beautiful (Genesis 3:6; NLT).

I’m stunted and distorted by abuse,
Shaped by countless storms,
Like this wind-blown tree;

But though I can’t be
What I might have been at birth,
I have a beauty,
And a value of my own,
Just like this crooked tree,
Which shelters others,
So they can grow tall.

The tree of life

Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught (Luke 10:39; NLT).

In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life (Genesis 2:9; NLT).

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him (Psalm 37:7; NIV).

Be silent before the LORD, all humanity (Zechariah 2:13; NLT).

I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to given you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God (Ephesians 1:17; NLT).

I sit at your feet
Beneath the tree of life,
In stillness,
And in silence,

Fixing my mind,
And heart,
And soul
On you,

So I can listen to your teaching,
And grow in wisdom, love,
And understanding,
Day by day.
