Inner truth

Our prayers should voice
Our inner truth,

But we are
Deeply flawed,

And though we often
Fool ourselves,

You see our hearts,
Dear Lord.

Spend time alone

Spend time alone
To seek God’s holy presence;

Be silent
As you listen for his voice.

With eyes closed
You may see his dazzling glory;

And in stillness
You may join his sacred dance.

Love and consolation

Lord,

May I still
My busy mind,

Creating time and space
For contemplation.

Then I will hear
Your quiet voice,

Expressing all your love
And consolation.

For all, today,

Who will not listen
For your voice,
