No hope

If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord (Isaiah 50:10; NLT).

God is with us (Isaiah 7:14; NLT).

The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

You are the temple of the living God (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

There is no sea, my Lord,
But you are here.

There is no sky, my Lord,
But you are here.

There is no light, my Lord,
But you are here.

There is no warmth, my Lord,
But you are here.

There is no love, my Lord,
But you are here.

There is no hope, my Lord,
But you are here.

God who hides

Hello to every reader. God can often seem very far away, especially when we feel ill, distressed, or depressed. Today’s prayer is a cry of supplication for use in these bad times…

God who hides

* Truly, you are a God who hides himself, O God of Israel, the Saviour (Isaiah 45:15; NRSV).
* But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear (Isaiah 59:2; NIV).
* Come near to God and he will come near to you (James 4:8; NIV).
* God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us (Acts 17:27;NIV).

Lord,
Despite my sins,
Don’t hide yourself from me,
For I am less than nothing without you.

I need your love –
Please let me see your light,
And hear your voice again.

Lord,
Despite my sins,
Don’t hide yourself from me,
For I am less than nothing without you.

I need your love –
Have mercy and draw near
As I reach out to search for you today.

Lord,
Despite my sins,
Don’t hide yourself from me,
For I am less than nothing without you,
My Saviour and my God.

Darkness and light

Hi to everyone who reads this daily blog. Darkness is as light to God – how I wish it could be the same for me!

Darkness and light
* I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster (Isaiah 45:7).
* If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light around me become night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you (Psalm 139:11-12; NRSV).
* For I the Lord do not change (Malachi 3:6).

Father,
Thank you for being with me –
In darkness,
Just as you are in light.

Even when I can’t feel your presence,
Or sense your warmth,
Or hear your voice,
It doesn’t matter –
For you are always with me,
Always the same.

Lord, please help me to love, thank,
Worship and serve you each day –
In darkness,
As well as in light.
