We see your Word

We see your Word
Reflected in the chalice,

And taste your Word
Embodied in the bread.

We share your Word
Through mingled wine and water,

And love your Word,
Whose precious blood was shed.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1; NLT).

He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you” (Luke 22:19-20; NIV).

Jesus gave his life for our sins (Galatians 1:4; NLT).

How you care!

Lord,

How you care!
Help me to share.

Water and blood
Show me your love.

May my heart burn!
So much to learn.

Water to wine;
Your soul in mine.

Transformation

Water to wine;
Food for us all –

Bread becomes body;
Wine, precious blood.

Fresh, living water
Pours into each soul –

This is Christ’s way
Of expressing God’s love.

Water into wine

Hello everyone. The work of a poet is never done! I’ve just made some revisions in today’s prayer, and thought some of you might be interested to see the difference changing a word or two can make:

Lord,
You are amazing!

You spilled
Your precious blood

So all my sins
Can be transformed,

And turned, instead,
To love.

Lord,
You are amazing!

I’m yours,
And you are mine.

Now all my sins
Have turned to love-

Like water
Into wine.

Our wasteland

Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer (Luke 5:16; NLT).

I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty (John 6:35; NLT).

Each one will be like […] streams of water in the desert (Isaiah 32:2; NLT).

God is love (1 John 4:16; NIV).

Comes food.

Your healing out
Like water;

But today
You poured
Your healing out
Like wine.
