In myself, I’m nothing

Hello everyone, just a quick update: I’m slowly recovering from my surgery at home, and have started to write again. This prayer is fresh from yesterday morning, with further work to complete it today XXXXX

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
For I am but a dream;

Yet I can love you, Father God,
The One who rules supreme.

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
For I am less than dust;

Yet I can honour Mary, Lord,
Who gave you all her trust.

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
And few will mourn my loss;

Yet I can serve your only Son,
Who died upon the cross.

In myself, I’m nothing, Lord,
For I am very weak;

Yet I can host your Spirit, Lord,
For blessed are the meek.

Dust

Lord,

You make us all from dust;
You know how weak we are.

You send us into exile here,
And watch us from afar.

Lord,

You make us all from dust;
To dust we all return.

Then our souls reunite with you,
The One for whom we yearn.

There’s something to be learned

Lord,

There’s something
To be learned
From all that happens.

Each hurt
Can help us grow,
Though we are weak.

For with you
We can speak truth
To those who hurt us,

Forgive them all,
And turn
The other cheek.

We really do,

And though we’re sinful,

We want to serve,
And grow much more like you,

So, may we love, forgive,
And turn the other cheek.

You are fire,

A tiny spark.

Breathe on my flame
So it grows strong,
And helps to set the world
Ablaze with love.

For you work best
Through weakness.

And I can be nothing, Lord,
For you are all.
