Immortal soul

You live in us,
You know our thoughts,
You long to make us whole.

You are our way,
Our truth, our life,
And our immortal soul.

There is no healing

Lord,
There is no healing
In dogmas, rules and creeds –

For only a relationship with you
Can meet my needs.

Lord,
There’s no forgiveness
In formal prayers of shame –

For only a relationship with you
Will clear my blame.

Lord,
There’s no salvation,
In attending church each week –

For only a relationship with you
Gives what I seek.

Lord,
There is no kingdom
To be found beyond my soul –

For only a relationship with you
Can make me whole.

If…

They […] brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well (Matthew 14:35-6; NKJV).

Lord God,

If I could only touch
Your hem,
Or hand,
Or heart;

Then I’d be whole
Eternally,
With no more fear,
Or hurt.

Darkness

The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness (Psalm 18:28; NLT).

Speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ (Ephesians 4:15; NLT).

When completeness comes, what is in part disappears (1 Corinthians 13:10; NLT).

…………………………………………….

Lord,
I’ve always kept my shadow self
In darkness,

Shunning the thoughts
I’d rather not accept;

But now, I’m sharing
My whole self with you,

So these thoughts become the cure
That makes me whole.

Whole

You will be made complete with all the fulness of life and power that comes from God (Ephesians 3:19; NLT).

You […] are complete through your union with Christ (Colossians 2:10; NLT).

………………………………………………

Lord God,

Today, you showed me
I’m completely whole,

Because the less there is of me,
The more you give;

So you make up
For all of my deficiencies.
