Heaven is NOW!

Heaven is now,
For God the Father
Is around us,
And within.

Heaven is now,
For God the Son
Dwells in us,
Despite our sin.

Heaven is now,
For God the Spirit
Fills us – heart, and soul
And mind.

Heaven is now,
For we are one
With the God we seek,
And find.

The Kingdom of God is already among you (Luke 17:21; NLT).

The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20; NIV).

We do not have a great high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin (Hebrews 4:15; NLT).

You have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you (1 John 2:27; NLT).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me (Jeremiah 29:13-14; NLT).

I’m proud to be a Christian

I’m proud to be a Christian, Lord;
I freely love your Son.

I’ll gladly follow him each day,
And serve till life is done.

And though I’m nothing, Father,
And my race is almost run,

My heart is full of joy and peace,
For we, and all, are One.

I will boast only in the Lord (Psalm 20:7; NLT).

Follow me (Luke 9:23; NLT).

You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him (Luke 4:8; NLT).

I am nothing but dust and ashes (Genesis 18:27; NIV).

You will live in joy and peace (Isaiah 55:12; NLT).

The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4; NIV).

The Father and I are one (John 10:30;NLT).

You are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28; NLT).

We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other (Romans 12:5; NLT).

Christ hears

Christ hears the prayers
Of our troubled minds,
As he pleads in Gethsemane.

Christ hears the prayers
Of our stricken hearts,
As he hangs on Golgotha’s tree.

Christ hears the prayers
Of our wretched souls,
As he yearns for death’s release.

Christ hears the prayers
Of our failing strength,
As he finds, at last, God’s peace.

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind (Luke 10:27; NLT).

He hears us (1 John 5:14; NIV).

They went to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and Jesus said, “Sit here while I go and pray” (Mark 14:32; NLT).

He was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood (Luke 22:44; NLT).

If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me.Yet I want your will to be done, not mine (Matthew 26:39; NLT).

They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha (which means Place of the Skull) (Mark 15:22; NLT).

Then the soldiers nailed him to the cross (Mark 15:24; NLT).

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (Mark 15:34; NLT).

Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last (Luke 23:46; NLT).

Light is breaking

Light is breaking
Into this dark world –

The light that comes
From following God’s Son.

Joy is breaking
Into this sad world –

The joy that comes
From following God’s Son.

Peace is breaking
Into this harsh world –

The peace that comes
From following God’s Son.

Love is breaking
Into this cold world.

The love that comes
From following God’s Son.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined (Isaiah 9:2; KJV).

Empty me

Empty me, Father,
And fill me with Christ,

So I will be ready
For each sacrifice.

Empty me, Father,
And fill me with prayer,

So I will be ready
To give, and to care.

Empty me, Father,
And fill me with love,

So I will be ready
For heaven above.

Empty me, Father,
And fill me with grace,

So I will be ready
To gaze on your face.

Christ lives within you (Romans 8:10; NLT).

God is love (1 John 4:16; NIV).

My grace is all you need (2 Corinthians 12:9; NLT).

The Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words (Romans 8:26; RSV).

Now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12; NRSV).

Your great gift

Even the faith which saves us all
Is your great gift
To us.

Even the grace of forgiveness, Lord,
Is your great gift
To us.

Even your Holy Spirit, Lord,
Is your great gift
To us.

Even your peace of heart and mind
Is your great gift
To us.

Even what righteousness we have
Is your great gift
To us.

And even the hope of eternal life
Is your great gift
To us.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8; NLT).

Even greater is God’s […] gift of forgiveness (Romans 4:16; NLT).

You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; NLT).

I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart (John 14:27; NIV).

Even greater is God’s […] gift of righteousness (Romans 5:17; NLT).

The free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23;  NLT).

What is this cross?

Then [Jesus] said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23; NLT).

What is this cross
Of which you speak, Lord Jesus?

What is this burden
I must bear through life?

It’s everything you suffer
For my sake, child;

It’s every kind of sickness, grief,
And strife.

What makes this cross
So critical, Lord Jesus?

What makes this burden count
Right up to death?

It’s facing all your suffering
With faith, child,

Whilst showing love to all
Till your last breath.

Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows (John 16:33; NLT).

I was given a thorn in my flesh […] Three times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:7-9; NLT).

In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind (2 Corinthians 6:4; NLT).

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them (Romans 12.9; NLT).

You have heard the law that say, ‘Love your neighbour’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! (Matthew 5:43-4; NLT).

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34; NIV).
