When you ask for healing

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them (1 Timothy 2:1; NLT).

When you ask for healing,
Pray for others, too.
Pray for those who suffer
Yet nothing makes them new.
Plead for all who live with pain –
Jesus, make us whole again.

When you crave forgiveness,
Pray for all, as well.
Pray for those who’ve hurt you,
And caused you years of hell.
Plead for those who’ve spoiled your life –
Jesus, may we see your light.

When you seek salvation,
Pray for all the earth.
Pray for those who don’t believe
In God, who gave them birth.
Plead for those who just say, “No!” –
Jesus, help us change and grow.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is (Ephesians 3:16-18; NLT).

It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow (1 Corinthians 3:7; NLT).

God

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

Don’t reach out;
Just reach in:

God is here –
In our pain
And our sin.

✠  God is love;
God is truth;
God is light;

God is strength;
God is fire;
God is life:

✠  In each mind,
And each heart,
And each soul –

God, our source,
And our breath,
And our goal.

My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead (Philippians 3:10-11; CSB).

Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead, with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14; NET).

The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; NIV).

My hope is a spark

A tiny spark can set a great forest on fire (James 3:5; NLT).

My hope is a spark;
My light is a flame;
My fire is a blaze;
My wrath is a pyre.

My way is your path;
My thorn is your pain;
My flesh is your bread;
My blood is your wine.

My faith is a gift;
My peace is a dove;
My love is a cross;
My rest is a tomb.

My grace is your staff;
My strength is your rod;
My truth is your sword:
For I am your God.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:19; NLT).

No light

Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world (John 16:33; NLT).

You are here,

For there’s no voice.

Yet I am cold,
For there’s no fire.

You are here,
Yet I am sad,
For there’s no joy.

You are here,
Yet I am worn,
For there’s no rest.

You are here,
For I am weak –
And life’s a test.

The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him (Deuteronomy 13:3-4; NLT).

Oneness

Let all the earth be silent before him (Habakkuk 2:20; NLT).

Lost in silence,
And in light;
Lost in comfort,
And in peace;

Lost in kindness,
And in grace;
Lost in goodness,
And in God.

Lost in stillness,
And in praise;
Lost in worship,
And in awe;

Lost in gladness,
And in love;
Lost in wonder:
One with God.

The person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him (1 Corinthians 6:17; NLT).

We are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

Living within

Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us (Colossians 3:11; NLT).

Christ, living within,
Is my pearl without price;
My truth, and my gospel;
My way, and my life;

My well, and my water;
My root, and my vine;
My first and last supper;
My bread, and my wine;

My light, and my darkness;
My sun, and my rain;
My goal; my salvation;
My joy, and my pain;

My Shepherd; my Spirit;
My staff, and my rod;
My friend on life’s journey –
My Lord and my God.

Search for your light

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it (John 1:1-5; NLT).

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (John 8:12; NLT).

Search for your light
In the heart of the gospel,
Discovering hope
In the heart of God’s Word.

Search for your faith
In the heart of the gospel,
Discovering peace
In the heart of the Lord.

Search for your strength
In the heart of the gospel,
Discovering joy
In the heart of God’s Word.

Search for your life
In the heart of the gospel,
Discovering love
In the heart of the Lord.

I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness – secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD (Isaiah 45:3; NLT).

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6; NLT).

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them (1 John 4:16; NLT).

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life (1 John 1:1; NLT).

You are here

There is …one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

Without any doubt, the LORD is in this place, and I did not realize it! (Genesis 28:16; AMP).

You are in my silence,
And my speaking;
You are in my darkness,
And my light.

You are in my desert,
And my well-spring;
You are in my blindness,
And my sight.

You are in my grief,
And my rejoicing;
You are in my comfort,
And my pain.

You are in my sickness,
And my healing:
You are here –
And I am your domain.

Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them” (John 14:23; NLT).

God, our Maker

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! (Psalm 95:6-7; NLT).

The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Mark 12:29; NIV).

God, our Maker,
Christ, your Son,
Holy Spirit:
You are One.

Every word you speak
Is true:
Trinity,
Please make us new.

You’re our light,
Our peace, our way:
Help us all
To love, and pray.

Save us; teach us;
Guide us through –
Then we’ll all
Be one with you.

Search for the way

Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him (Psalm 105:4; NLT). 

Search for the way
To the heart of Christ’s gospel.
Search for the truth
In the Lord’s flesh and blood.

Search for your life
In the heart of the gospel.
Search for your light
In the Lord’s faithful love.

Follow his way
To the heart of the gospel.
Realise the truth
In the Lord’s flesh and blood.

Centre your life
In the heart of the gospel.
Dwell in the light
Of our Lord’s faithful love.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (John 8:12; NLT).

All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us (Revelation 1:5; NLT).

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7-8; NLT).

The gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it (Matthew 7:14; NLT).
