Remember

Remember the LORD your God (Deuteronomy 8:18; NLT).

Rejoice in the LORD your God! (Joel 2:23; NLT).

Remember to rejoice in God,
To trust, and walk beside, our God.

Remember to depend on God,
To serve, and to confide, in God.

Remember to beware of God,
To bow, and be in awe of, God.

Remember to revere our God,
To worship, and adore, our God.

O LORD, you are our God (2 Chronicles 14:11; NLT).

I will proclaim the name of the LORD; how glorious is our God! (Deuteronomy 32:3; NLT).

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things (1 Chronicles 29:11; NLT).

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – my Savior and my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you (Psalm 42:5-6; NLT).

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights (Habakkuk 3:17-19; NLT).

Fear God (1 Peter 2:17, NLT).

As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? (Hebrews 12:7; NLT).

Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God (Romans 14:10; NLT).

Remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do (Ecclesiastes 11:9; NLT).

Amidst my troubles

I love you, LORD; you are my strength (Psalm 18:1; NLT).

I love you, God, amidst my troubles;
Trust in you amidst my pain;

Love you, God, amidst my struggles,
Giving thanks in loss and gain.

I love you, God: amidst my sorrows
Can I share your perfect peace?

Can I know your gentle presence?
Yes! Your mercies never cease!

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease (Lamentations 3:22; NLT).

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world (John 16:33; NLT).

No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39; NIV).

Jesus is God

I love you, Lord; you are my strength (Psalm 18:1; NLT).

My Lord, my God:
I cling to you;
Trust you,
And believe in you.

My Lord, my God:
I follow you;
Need you,
And depend on you.

My Lord, my God:
I cherish you;
Praise you,
And rejoice in you.

My Lord, my God:
I worship you;
Serve you,
And belong to you.

I belong to the Lord (Isaiah 44:5; NLT).

We trust in you

It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor-Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you] (John 16:7; AMP).

We trust in you, our Advocate:
Our truth, our God,
Our shining light.

We hope in you, our Counsellor:
Our help, our fire,
Our guide through life.

We dwell in you, our Comforter:
Our faith, our peace,
Our only good.

We pray in you, God’s Holy Ghost:
The Spirit of
Our Saviour’s love.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion (Ephesians 6:18; NLT).

We know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love (Romans 5:5; NLT).

The Spirit, too, comes to help us in our weakness. For we don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit expresses our plea with groanings too deep for words. And God, who knows everything in our hearts, knows perfectly well what the Spirit is saying, because her intercessions for God’s holy people are made according to the mind of God (Romans 8:26-7; TIB).

I need you

Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13; AMP).

I need you,
And I search for you.

I find you,
And I trust in you.

I serve you,
And I follow you.

I love you,
And I long for you.

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God (Psalm 42:1; NLT).

Jesus

In him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28; NIV).

We live in You
Like fish in water;
Move in You
Like birds in air.

You’re the God,
Who walks beside us –
All we suffer, Lord,
You share.

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed (John 20:28; NLT.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me (Psalm 23:4; NLT).

I am with you always (Matthew 28:20; NLT).

In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years (Isaiah 63:9; NLT).

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering (Isaiah 53:4; NIV).

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens (Psalm 68:19; NIV).

There is …one God and Creator of all, who is over all, who works through all and is within all (Ephesians 4:4-6; TIB).

God

There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called into one hope when you were called. There is one Savior, one faith, one baptism, one God and Creator of all, who is over all, who works through all and is within all (Ephesians 4:4-6; TIB).

You are the God of all that is,
And all that is to come –
So, may we trust and serve you well,
And, may your will be done.

You are the God who longs to help,
And loves us all so much –
So, may we search for you, and find,
Then share, your gentle touch.

You are the God who makes us all,
And gives us life and breath –
So, may we see your face at last,
Beyond our life and death.

For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God] (1 Corinthians 13:12; AMP).

Rest in peace

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-30; NLT).

Walk in peace
Throughout your life
The path that Jesus trod,
Trusting in his love and light,
His cross, and staff,
And rod.

Serve in peace
With Christ our Lord,
And be at peace with God,
Trusting in their Holy Ghost:
Then rest in peace
With God.

God’s promise of entering his rest still stands (Hebrews 4:1; NLT).

Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile” (Mark 6:31; NLT).

God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today (Hebrews 4:7; NLT).

All who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest (Hebrews 4:10-11; NLT).

I trust you

Trust in God, and trust also in me (John 14:1; NLT).

I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God” (Psalm 31:14; NIV).

You help me slowly,
Bit by bit:
I trust you,
For you never quit.

You mend my thinking,
Day by day:
I trust you,
For you light my way.

You ease my anguish,
Step by step:
I trust you,
For we share each threat.

You heal my spirit,
Year by year:
I trust you,
For you’re always here.

Behold, I am with you every day, even unto the end of time (Matthew 28:20; ABPE).

According to your faith [your trust and confidence in My power and My ability to heal] it will be done to you (Matthew 9:29; AMP).

Naked prayer

You say, “I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing!” But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked (Revelation 3:17; NIV).

The Spirit, too, comes to help us in our weakness. For we don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit expresses our plea with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26; TIB).

Naked prayer: don’t prepare –
Spontaneity is all.
Ask the Holy Ghost to help you,
S/He will always hear your call.

Silent prayer: Christ will share
All your troubles, grief, and shame.
Like a child, with trust unfailing,
Praise and bless His holy name.

Honest prayer: God is there –
S/He is all you’ll ever need.
Let your words be short and simple,
God will always take the lead.

Wordless prayer: Threefold care –
Revel in the cleansing fire.
Spirit-led, just keep on seeking:
You’ll receive your heart’s desire.

Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desires (Psalm 37:4; NLT).
