Hello to all readers. How hard the Christian life can be, as we battle with our inner selves, trying to follow in Jesus’ footsteps! Here are some of my own personal struggles…
Personal paradoxes
- For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all those who humble themselves will be exalted (Luke 18:14).
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-3).
Father,
You know how hard I try to serve you,
Yet how often I mess things up.
You know how low my self-esteem is,
Yet how grandiose my thoughts can be.
You know how lacking in confidence I am,
Yet how hard I try to be brave.
You know how little I achieve,
Yet how I long to impress.
You know how much I want to love people,
Yet how critical and judgemental I can feel.
You know how patient I’d like to be,
Yet how irritable I can get when I’m tired.
You know how honest I try to be,
Yet how deeply I can delude myself.
Father,
You understand me completely,
Yet still you love me.
Thank you for loving even me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
amen..we all struggle and as we do the Lord helps us to be on the right track. I know for me I thank Him for His grace…for He never gave up on me
