Contemplation
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him (Psalm 37:7; NIV).
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10; NIV).
Be silent before the Sovereign LORD (Zephaniah 1:7; NIV).
Wait for the LORD (Psalm 37:34; NIV).
Contemplation means
Putting God first for a time –
Fixing our eyes on him alone,
Waiting on him patiently,
Opening our hearts,
Listening for his voice,
Resting in his presence,
And sharing his peace,
Whilst adoring him
With single-minded devotion.
