Silent meditation

For God alone my soul waits in silence (Psalm 62:1; ESV).

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed (John 20:28; NLT).

You also are complete through your union with Christ (Colossians 2:10; NLT).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

Silent meditation,
Silent contemplation,

Silent adoration,
Then amalgamation

Into you, my Lord;
Into you, my God.

A blessing

Now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light (Psalm 56:13; NLT).

They will receive the Lord’s blessing (Psalm 24:5; NLT).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

…………………………………………………………….

Lord,
May the light
Of your sacred presence,
And the blessing
Of your unfailing love,
Be upon us all,
Now, and for evermore,
Amen

There’s nothing left

The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).

……………………………………………………………

Lord,

There’s nothing left
For me to be afraid of,
Now that I have found
My shadow side.

There’s nothing left
For me to be afraid of,
Now that I can hear
My shadow’s voice.

There’s nothing left
For me to be afraid of,
Now that I accept
My shadow’s words.

And there’s nothing left
For me to be afraid of,
Now that I embrace
My shadow self.

I lift my eyes

I lift my eyes to you, O God (Psalm 123:1; NLT).

Ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature (Romans 1:20; NLT).

You are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

……………………………………………………….

I lift my eyes
To see you
All around me, Lord,

And close my eyes
To see you
In myself.

It makes no sense

Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them (1 John 4:16; NIV).

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one (John 17:22; NLT).

You are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28; NLT).

……………………………………………………………………….

It make no sense
To tell you that I love you,

It makes no sense
To say that you love me,

It makes no sense
To add that we love everyone –

Since all are one in love,
Eternally.

Your will be done

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one (John 17:22; NLT).

May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done (Matthew 6:10; NLT).

………………………………………

Lord God,
Our world is in a mess
Of selfishness
And bitterness.

May your love
Bind us into one –
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.

Growing towards completeness

I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness – secret riches (Isaiah 45:3; NLT).

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me (Psalm 139:1; NIV).

When completeness comes, what is in part disappears (1 Corinthians 13:10; NLT).

Put on your new nature, created to be like God (Ephesians 4:24; NLT).

We shall be like him (1 John 3:2; ESV).

…………………………………………………………..

Lord God,

In quiet prayer
I share with you

The secret riches
Of my shadow self,

Though you already
Know them very well –

My silent hurt
And bitterness,

Resentment,
Anger,

Envy, hate
And fear.

Then, as I integrate them,
One by one,

Into a fuller knowledge
Of my self,

Slowly, I change,
Growing towards completeness,

As I become
A little more like you.

Forgiveness

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44; NIV).

Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us (Luke 11:4; NLT).

……………………………………….

Lord God,
When I can pray

For someone who has hurt
Or damaged me,

Without a single reservation
From my shadow self,

Then I know for sure
That I’ve forgiven them, at last.

Water into wine

He came to Cana, where he had turned the water into wine (John 4:46; NLT).

You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing (Psalm 30:11; NLT).

………………………………………….

Lord,
You turn water
Into wine,

War
Into peace,

Fear
Into love,

Tears
Into joy,

Sickness
Into health,

And death
Into life.
