Come, darkness

Come, darkness,
Close my weary eyes,
For I have said
My last goodbyes.

Come, solitude,
And soothe my fear;
Remind me that
The Lord is near.

Come, stillness,
As my struggles cease,
And bring me to
Eternal peace.

Come, silence,
After my last breath;
Unite me with the Lord
In death.

Though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me (Psalm 23:4; KJV).

What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbour (Psalm 107:30; NLT).

The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7; NIV).
