As seedlings grow

The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens… First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens (Mark 4:26-8; NLT).

As seedlings grow
In total darkness,
Blindly seeking
Light and air,
So I wait, Lord,
Still and silent,
Far beyond all hope
Of prayer.

God, alone and still,
I seek you,
Breathing slowly –
Silence reigns.
Yet you’re here,
And, hid in darkness,
One by one,
You loose my chains.

Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains (Psalm 107:10; NIV).

He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains (Psalm 107:14; NIV).
