Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever] (Matthew 5:3; AMP).
Blest are those
Who cannot serve as priests:
The women, gays, and all
Who don’t conform.
Blest are those
Excluded by the church:
Who think, and speak, and act
Beyond the norm.
Blest are those
Who don’t fit in at all:
The followers of every faith,
And none.
Blest are those
Whom prejudice rejects:
We, too, Lord, wait in hope –
Your kingdom come.
May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10; NLT).
