Love
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them (1 John 4:16; NIV).
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:10; NIV).
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink” (John 7:37; NIV).
He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ ” (Luke 10:27; NIV).
“With whom will you compare me or count me equal?” (Isaiah 46:5; NIV).
Father,
You are love.
So, though I deserve nothing,
You love even me.
You fill me,
Cover me,
And feed me
With your love.
You give me
Your love to drink.
You suffuse my heart
With love for you,
For others,
And even for myself.
Lord,
There is none to compare with you,
For you are love.
