Love
“Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58: 6; NIV).
Love your neighbour as yourself (Luke 10:27; NIV).
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another
(John 13:34; NIV).
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6; NIV).
Father,
We pray for everyone
Who has been
Kidnapped,
Deceived,
Groomed,
Forced,
Or trafficked
Into every kind of abuse,
Exploitation,
And slavery.
We are ashamed
That we humans
Are capable of conceiving,
And carrying out,
Such dreadful crimes
Against our fellows.
Have mercy on us,
Heal those we have harmed,
Forgive us,
And bring us back
To your path of love.
We ask this in Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.
