A dedication

Then he [Job] fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised”
(Job 1:20-21; NIV).

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him ( Job 13:15; NIV).

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love (Lamentations 3:32; NIV).

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour (Habakkuk 3:17-18; NIV).

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; NIV).

Father,
Please heal and strengthen me,
So I can serve you more.

But if it is your will
For me to be
Sick, weak and tired,
Please help me
Still to praise you,
Rejoice in you,
And serve you
With all my heart,
As best I can.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
