When I rest,
You rest beside me,
Watching over me
In sleep.
When I walk,
You walk beside me,
Helping where the path
Is steep.
When I sit,
You sit beside me,
Teaching me
The way ahead.
When I fear,
You stay beside me,
Sharing all my tears
And dread.
When I stray
You stray beside me,
Guarding me with staff
And rod.
When I pray,
You pray beside me,
Lifting up my heart
To God.

This makes me think of the twenty-third Psalm, Ruth. The day before yesterday the dogs and I were pottering around on the riverbank (the River Wear). It was raining ever so gently … I felt so peaceful and refreshed … then there was a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder and we hurried home looking like drowned rats! 😂 xxx
What a wonderful experience! That made me smile XXXXXXX
