May I persevere (#2 of 2 linked prayers)

🧡

You need to persevere,
so that when you have done the will of God,
you will receive what he has promised
(Hebrews 10:36; NIV).

1. In darkness,
May I persevere, Lord,
Trusting in your faith,
Not mine.

2. In sorrow
May I persevere, Lord,
Clinging to your hope,
Not mine.

3. In dryness,
May I persevere, Lord,
Living in your love,
Not mine.

4. In sickness,
May I persevere, Lord,
Till we meet,
Beyond all time.

🧡

All glory to him who alone is God, our Saviour
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his
before all time, and in the present,
and beyond all time! Amen
(Jude 1:25; NLT).

Three things will last forever –
faith, hope, and love –
and the greatest of these is love
(1 Corinthians 13:13; NLT).

  • Hi Ruth, I am presently between headaches. An inconvenience at present is not being able to hear due to blocked ears, which due to restrictions can’t be treated at the surgery. How is your Monday going sister?

    • Hi, Alan, I’m so glad you don’t have a headache right now. This is always a relief, isn’t it, whether the beaten headaches time is short or long? It’s sad that you can’t get your ears treated at present, so I do hope the Covid situation where you are will soon ease enough for you to see your doctor face to face.

I’ve just written today’s new prayer, and am about to have a shower – I’m very slow and tired. John has cleaned the downstairs floors, which really, really needed doing, so I’m very grateful to him.

Take care, Alan, with love from Ruth XXXXX
