They all turn to their own way.
(Isaiah 56:11; NIV).

1. Rather than conceiving
My own approach to life,
I’ll seek your better way:
The way of truth.

2. Rather than devising
My own approach to strife,
I’ll trust your perfect way:
The way of peace.

3. Rather than creating
My own approach to hate,
I’ll walk your narrow way:
The way of love.

4. And rather than inventing
My own approach to faith,
I’ll choose your holy way,
My great High Priest.

Choose today whom you will serve.
(Joshua 24:15; NLT).

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
(John 14:6; NLT).

1. I will show you an even better way (1 Corinthians 12:31; CSB).

I have chosen the way of truth (Psalm 119 30; KJV).

2. God’s way is perfect (2 Samuel 22:31; NLT).

He will guide us into the way of peace (Luke 1:79; GWT).

3. The gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life (Matthew 7:14; NASB).

Walk in the way of love (Ephesians 5:2; NIV).

4. Your way, O God, is holy (Psalm 77:13; ESV).

Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God – Jesus, the Son of God (Hebrews 4:4; GNT).

  • Ruth, this is prayer begs for deeper personal reflection and moment of confession for any conceiving, devising, and inventing. As soon as I saw the picture you selected, I though of Jeremiah 6:16 “This is what the Lord says: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.”

    • Dear Beth, thank you so much for your message. I’m delighted that this prayer has given you pause for reflection. The quote you mentioned is one of my favourites! My prayers for you continue. May God bless you today XXXXXX
